So I had another encounter with this awesome character the other day. Lets call her CJ.
I see CJ all over the place, which is funny because she swears that as soon as she goes outside the FBI is going to arrest her. Thing is is that she couldn't be much more harmless.
So I'm delivering to the same Hospital as I did the other day. (This hospital has all the crazies that you see all over and around downtown/college area/La Mesa. Basically every crazy person that you see boxing against some imagined foe and cursing them out and all that everywhere from Downtown to El Cajon). So I'm walking up to the nurse's station and first CJ asks me if those meds are for her, to which I reply unless your name is Joshua. And of course she says, "Ya, that's my name, give me my stuff." I just chuckle to myself and continue walking to the nurse's station.
I'm standing at the nurse's station waiting for someone to help me, when I hear somebody trying to get my attention. I turn around and it's CJ again. This time she's saying something about how she's ready to go. "I can't take you anywhere, that's not part of my job" i inform her. "You can take me away now officer, I'm ready to go." "I'm definitely not a cop. In fact I'm nowhere close to being a police officer. I'm a delivery driver." "Do you deliver people to the Feds?" "Nope, I deliver people's medication to them or to the people in charge of their well being." "Oh, cause you look like a federal agent to me." "Whelp, I'm not.... Sorry, I guess."
I think it's funny that she thought I looked like a cop. I was wearing my pink Tell The Truth t-shirt, black shorts, flip flops and my sunglasses. I don't know about you, but I don't see many police uniforms that look like that, especially not Federal agents.
I think CJ is probably going to be a recurring character in these blogs. I see her a whole lot. Mostly at this hospital.

Brawing and a metal pole
So I have a lot of stories so far. I have been doing this job for over 7 months. I am not permitted by law to use any patients' actual name, so I'll just make up names so that make sense to me, and are easier to say. I'm also not permitted to say the actual names of hospitals or retirement communities or anything like that.
Now that I got that out of the way... lets start with a doosey.
One day about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago, I was delivering medication to a Behavior Health Hospital (BHH) in the actual city of San Diego. The area that I deliver to almost every day has seen some very interesting patients come through. On this particular day, about an hour before I got there, two of the bigger patients got to talking, and then yelling, and then before anyone could do anything, they were full on brawling. From what the nice nurse who telling all of this to me, all security members in the whole hospital to come and separate them.
somehow that patient had gotten a hold of a metal pole and was waving it around trying to hit anyone that came close enough. The nurses By the time the nice nurse was done telling me about the fight, I could see people cleaning the blood off of the floor. As I was finishing my walk to the nurse's station, one of the patients started screaming for a nurse. The N.N. went to the person's aid, and then immediately came out yelling for help. Every nurse and helper and security guard in earshot came running. (I am not permitted to help in these cases, I have no idea what to do anyway.) It turns out thatsedated the patient with something that was in a needle. It was straight out of the movies.
Anyway, that was all within about 15 minutes. Sure was exciting/interesting.
If you made it through the story, I'm giving you a long distance High-5 right now.
Later.

I'm a Drug Runner!!
So I have this job. I run drugs all over most of San Diego. All totally legal drugs. But drugs all the same. While doing my job I come across some interesting characters, and even more interesting situations. With this blog I hope that I can paint a picture, or at least a rough outline of some of these experiences.
